BAE Systems - Surface Ships Support

BAE Systems, based in Portsmouth, operates the South Coasts most advanced naval support and dry dock facility. Burgess Marine works closely with BAE Systems assisting their commercial dry dockings in the UK Fast Ferry industry. In addition to the existing partnership both businesses are working together to drive more commercial dockings to Portsmouth, and increase the local skill sets to include Aluminium Structural Fabricators and Mechanical Engineers capable of working on both medium and high speed diesel engines. We have supported BAE Systems closely with regard to works on ‘grey ships’, Antarctic Survey vessels, and participated in numerous joint bids including traditional tonnage and Ministry of Defence works.

Incat

Incat Australia Pty Ltd, based in Tasmania, manufactures Aluminium Fast Ferries up to 112m in length. Our teams have trained in Hobart and now the business not only supports Incat directly, it also supports Incat owned vessels in-service, and all other operators of Incat vessels across the globe with structural and mechanical engineering.

Austal

Burgess Marine is a preferred partner of Austal, in the UK, in specific relation to the support of Austal's fleet of Wind Farm Support Vessels (WFSV). We support Austal with regards to structural repairs, renewals and mechanical engineering and act as Austal's preferred warranty partner.

Portland Port

Burgess Marine has partnered with Portland Port to supply them with 24 hour ship repair assistance. This adds to Burgess Marines extensive coverage on the south coast with another wonderful supportive Port.

Portland Port has the second largest man made harbour in the world, situated 20 nautical miles north of the westerly shipping lanes and on the main maritime trade routes allowing fast, safe access 24 hours a day. Its location within the English Channel is unique, and provides excellent shelter from the prevailing south-westerly winds. Portland is a perfect choice when selecting a suitable South Coast port in which to carry out repairs pre or post docking with Burgess Marine.

Strategic Marine

Burgess Marine has a service agency agreement with Strategic Marine; we work together to provide marine, ship repair and through-life support services to the emerging offshore wind sector and specifically Strategic Marine's European customer base. The agreement originated with Testbank Ship Repair and dates back to 2012 pre Burgess Marine's acquisition of Testbank.

Port of Cherbourg

Burgess Marine has formally partnered with the Port of Cherbourg in support of the growing refit and repair market developing across the South Coast and the English Channel. Since 2001, We have been the Port of Cherbourg's primary engineering partner in respect of the Rolls-Royce Syncrolift facility in Cherbourg. Having, for many years utilised the facility specifically in support of High Speed Craft operated by Sea Containers, Condor Ferries and Brittany Ferries, we now intend to expand our commercial activities on the site in the support of both Superyachts and UK based ship owners and operators. The longevity of our partnership ensures lift rates are highly competitive and response times immediate.

Shoreham Port

Burgess Marine is working in partnership with Shoreham Port, Adur Dry Dock to provide a skilled workforce. The Adur Dry Dock has an array of fantastic facilities on site to offer Burgess Marine & Shoreham Port customers as well as a competitive service with quick and reliable turnaround times. A wide variety of vessels regularly visit the Dry Dock including tugs, trawlers, survey vessels, yachts and tall shipsand many more.
By collaborating with Burgess Marine, Shoreham Port will attract new business to 7 Dry Dock through being able to offer comprehensive repair services. A reciprocal agreement will see work that cannot be accommodated in Burgess Marine’s other facilities catered for in Shoreham and vice versa.

Turks Shipyard and Burgess Marine partnered this month to offer a one-stop-shop for ship repair and marine engineering excellence on the River Thames.
